Does Treadmill Training Really Work?

I love data...I love proof...but most all, I love results.

Ever wonder if treadmill training works? I can talk to you all day long of why it works, but I dont' need to do that when I show you the results:

Name          Speed            1st/2nd stride count            1st/2nd skate to fatigue
(less strides = more efficient)    (number of seconds to failure = grabbing the safety bar)

MD               9.0                 48 / 42                                 22.54 / 33.22
MT               9.0                 44 / 40                                 20.01 / 30.41
JH                8.5                 44 / 40                                27.19 / 41.15
NG              7.5                 43 / 40                                18.37 / 39.38
NB               9.0                 45 / 38                                18.87 / 35.07
NM              9.5                 47 / 43                                 22.90 / 32.15
CV               9.0                        39                                            46.97

I heard enough from some guys I trust and respect that it was good thing, but never could have imagined how much of an impact it has made on my skating. I completed one 8 week session and am looking forward to the next 8 week session to be fully prepped for the season. Good luck to those not using it in keeping up!
